The Artopp Artist Resource website is maintained by volunteers who are interested in facilitating communication in the visual arts community. ArtOpp.Net contains selected national and international opportunities for artists and arts organizations. and provides free listings for Art organizations that offer studio space, grants, residency, public art calls, funding, exhibition space or other services for visual artists. Opportunities selected for publication must include a brief paragraph, url, email and phone number. Entry Deadline: June 6th, 2008 CALL FOR ENTRIES: 28th ANNUAL NATIONAL JURIED FINE ART COMPETITION. The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art is currently accepting entries for its 28th annual juried fine art competition, A Sense of Place 2008. Open to all U.S. artists ages 18 and older working in the following media: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media. $25 entry fee covers submission of slides or CD of up to three works; additional works $5 each. Cash awards available. Juror: Amanda Cooper, Curator of Exhibitions, The Arts Center, St. Petersburg, FL. Entries must be postmarked by June 6, 2008; exhibition runs September 19-October 17, 2008. Entry Deadline: April 30th, 2008 The Smithtown Township Arts Council is now accepting entries for The Art of Music, an exhibition seeking to capture the total music environment: the performers, the lights, the audience, and the instruments. Open to all artists and all visual media. The exhibition is to be held June 7- July 1, 2008 at the Mills Pond House Gallery, and one winning artist will be selected to participate in STAC’s annual Winner’s Showcase. Exhibited work may not exceed 54" in width. Deadline for entries is April 30, 2008, and must be submitted as 300 ppi jpeg files on CD only (1800x1800).
